Oak Wine Barrel and Mesquite Grilling Chips
To make our 100% recycled oak wine barrel grilling chips, we start with either
American or French oak wine barrels from our winery. These barrels are what we use to age
our family's wines. Some of our barrels may have been full of wine for up to five years!
When the wine aging process has run its course, the oak barrels no longer have viability
in the winery so we begin selecting oak for our grilling chips. Once we've found the right
type of barrel - heavily toasted and totally infused with wine - we split them into our
famous grilling chips and package them.
Because wine is drawn in and infused into the wood during the aging process, when you use
our grilling chips on your barbecue or in a smoker, the slow, consistent burn imparts the
distinctive yet subtle wine smoke aroma to any food you chose to put on the grill. We
believe this unique flavor will enhance your grilling experience and make all your food
taste spectacular. Best of all, California Wine Chips can be used on almost any kind of
grill or smoker.
In addition to making a great meal, California Wine Chips are an environmentally friendly
way of dealing with a by-product of the winery. We believe strongly in sustainable farming
practices in the vineyard and that commitment extends into our winery. We appreciate your
interest in this wonderful flavoring solution and we thank you for purchasing our
California Wine Chips. It is truly our passion to share great food and wine with you and
your loved ones.
